Well, we're set to hit record heat here in Seattle this week. So what better afternoon activity in a house without A/C than exercise!! To be fair, it actually is significantly cooler on the ground than on the couch. And we did walk around Greenlake and drive all over the place this morning (the car stays nice and cool for naps). If it really does hit 99 or 102 on Wednesday, I don't know what we'll do. But anyway...
...and then he figured out the other way...
Even though he was getting tired and complaining about tummy time (after a ton of great flipping), he wouldn't stay on his back! He is so proud of himself every time he makes it to his tummy AND he wore himself out so much that he was ready for a nap early. I know what we're doing more of before bedtime!

Grandpa Louie's Shower
Last month, Grandpa Louie's coworkers threw a baby shower for Owen. How thoughtful is that?!? We received a box full of clothes, books, toys and gift cards today and took a few pictures of Owen in one of the outfits, playing with one of the toys. We did some stealth camera work to get smiley pictures even! A lot of the gifts centered around baseball -- more specifically, around the LA Dodgers. I guess if Owen *has* to pick a National League team to cheer for, it could be worse! ;)
Also, we took a day trip to Whidbey Island last Sunday. It was the farthest and longest that Owen has been away from home and he rocked it! Napping was a little tough, but luckily there are some nice open highways to drive which almost always lead to good naps!
This weekend is much more relaxed. We may check out the Ballard Seafood Fest, but mainly we're just trying to stay cool. I'm not sure how we're going to handle the 90+ degree weather that's forecasted for this week. We're ready for fall weather!

More Laughs
Dan is Owen's hero. Regardless of what Owen's doing, he's always looking to find his daddy. When Dan's at work, Owen will turn to the spot on the couch that Dan normally sits in, and when Dan's home, Owen has to keep him in his sights at all times. It's really incredible that they have such an amazing bond already. Part of their relationship is humor. Dan can get Owen to smile and laugh almost any time he wants. Here is a video of baby/daddy time from a few days ago. It's my new favorite!
Oh yeah...Owen is also camera-shy. As is evident by his reaction when he noticed he was on tape!

Owen is 3 Months Old
Three months ago, we were in the hospital holding our hour-old baby boy. Three months!! He's gotten so big and is so attentive. He and Dan have their daily giggle times, he's taking regular naps and has a consistent bed time. He has started grabbing for toys and has discovered his feet. Owen talks to us and his toys constantly and drools like crazy! We couldn't be happier with our little man.
